Before the fixFoggy RV Windows
They look bad, and they're dangerous. It's almost impossible to see through a foggy window at night. They block your view to the mirrors, making it dangerous to change lanes. Everyone will tell you the only solution is to replace them. You'll have to go through the manufacturer to get the exact size and fit. If you're lucky, the window will only cost you 0 to 0, plus installation.
Some companies tell you to drill the glass top and bottom, inject a cleaner, then plug the holes with their 'Special' vent plug.
Bad idea.
You'll never clean the inside until you can touch it. The vent only lets condensation and moisture out after it gets back in, again and again. Let's address the root cause and fix it right, once and for all....
After the fix!
Crystal Clear RV Window!
Two hours later... This is what you can expect. Crystal Clear, ready to take off on the next camping adventure without the aggravation of foggy windows.
OK, maybe three hours after taking time for lunch!
No drilling, but it's in depth.
So is the video. It's about 30 minutes long but takes you through the entire process.
The windows come out of the RV pretty easily, takes 20 minutes.
Separate the frame, 10 minutes.
Separate the two panes of insulated glass, and clean them, 30 minutes.
Seal the window with the new seal, 10 minutes.
Go to the hardware store to get something you forgot, 0 minutes, it's all in the kit!
Wait 20 minutes for the Silicone caulking to tack up, then put it all back together and put the tools away, 45 minutes.
You'll need a helper, these windows are heavy enough you'll not want to carry them alone!
Keep in mind, it doesn't have to be a motorhome. Travel trailers, fifth wheels, all RV's have windows, they all get foggy! They can all be repaired!
The cost of the kit is 7.00 and includes free shipping in the USA. That's a fraction of the cost of a new window!
Everything in this kit is Made in the USA!
